Brass

Brass is an alloy, and all the brass pieces on our website are nickel, lead and cadmium free.

It is available in a range of colours depending on the polishing process and can be formed into any shape whilst retaining its high strength, making it ideal for use in body jewellery.

Brass can tarnish and oxidise with age, so be aware that it may turn your skin green if worn for extended periods of time or after contact with water or sweat; this is due to the presence of copper in its metal makeup.

Brass cannot be sterilised in an autoclave, so is only suitable for fully healed, established piercings. It can be cleaned with a simple soap and water solution, or alternatively with a cotton cloth and fresh lemon juice.
