Navel Piercing
The navel piercing is a relatively modern piercing, first introduced to mainstream culture by supermodels in the 1990s. However, it is thought that navel piercings may have been prominent in ancient Egyptian cultures as a sign of royalty and fertility. Navels are traditionally pierced with curved barbells/banana bars, but 1.6mm hinged rings and ball closure rings are popular and comfortable choices for an alternative look. Depending on anatomy, the navel piercing can be placed either through the top ridge, bottom ridge, or through the navel itself (outies only).
